Since this is my first review of a foreign movie, here's a little background information on Bollywood. Making anywhere from 1,500 to 2,000 movies a year, Bollywood makes the most movies a year and has made the most movies of all time. The thing that makes this movie special is its stellar cast which features one of the most prominent Indian actors of all time (Hrithik Roshan) fighting against essentially the Tom Holland of Bollywood (Tiger Shroff).

Pros: As I've already mentioned before, this movie has a stellar cast and this is one of the main positive points that I saw in the film. The two main actors have great chemistry and every scene with them together is always highly entertaining to watch. The second main thing this movie has going for it is how entertaining it is. There wasn't a single time where I felt bored or tired even though I was watching the movie near midnight. Every scene dripped with swag and made you go on the edge of your seat. The action scenes are extremely well choreographed and since both actors are experts in Martial Arts, it made the scenes look even more realistic. Although the plot isn't very complex or deep, there are some very surprising twists that made the movie a lot more enjoyable than I thought it would be.

Cons: Although the movie is extremely entertaining, there are some major problems with the believability of the scenes. For starters, there are many scenes in which the characters do things that aren't even possible in the real world and some people can argue that this is for thematic purposes but when these feats happen as frequently as they do in this movie, it gets pretty ridiculous. For example, in one of the scenes, Hrithik Roshan is taking heavy fire from many assailants on multiple sides of him so he takes cover behind a metal crate. To see how many people are firing at him, he throws his glasses up and uses the REFLECTION OF THE GLASS to see his assailants. He somehow saw exactly how many people there were in less than a second based on the tiny lens of his sunglasses. On top of that, many times characters will get shot and then will proceed to ignore the injury and run on top of rooftops and then will conveniently remember the wound before catching the bad guy. Another problem that this film faces is the duration time. This movie is WAY too long. It would make sense if the film was filled with information that actually made sense but half of the film is made up of pointless backstories, minor characters, and irrelevant songs. Most of this happens in the first half of the film which makes a film that should have been 1hr 45min to 2hr 30min.

Star Rating: 6.5/10

Final Thoughts: War provided a cast with excellent chemistry and a very entertaining plot, but forgot that their film isn't a comic book movie. Although it was too long, it never felt boring and definitely deserves a rewatch.
