Details: Cast: Rajkumar Rao, Nushrat Bharucha, Saurabh Shukla
Release Date: November 13, 2020
MPAA Rating: N/A
Pros: Starting with the obvious, Rajkumar Rao is great in this film as an unmotivated PE teacher. Most of the movie revolves around him and his arc trying to work hard and become a motivated teacher. This part of the premise is executed nicely mostly due to Rao's compelling performance. Some of the one-liners, mostly made by Saurabh Shukla, are executed really well and compel one or two laughs. The climax of the movie, while cliched, does a nice job tugging at the heartstrings. Other than that everything else is very mediocre.
Cons: The cast other than Rajkumar Rao are quite frankly annoying and very mediocre. The love interest, played by Nushrat Bharucha, was very flat in her acting and as a character in general. Most of the script isn't very funny and towards the last half of the film was very tiresome. The biggest vice of this film is its inability to choose one genre. It finds itself split between a rom-com and an inspirational sports movie. The rom-com side of it is very pointless and not executed well at all while the inspirational sports portion of it barely works well. The soundtrack is very subpar and the editing could have been done better. While separately these problems aren't too bad, the fact that the film is 2hr 30min makes for a tedious viewing by the end of the film.
Star Rating: 5/10
Final Thoughts: With a mediocre script, soundtrack, and general cast, this movie might be fun to watch with the family if you're bored but other than that it is pretty subpar.
