Pros: With the arrival of the third film of the infamous Dabangg franchise, everyone was excited. Who can really resist mind-numbing action, vibrant songs, cheesy lines, and overall just a good time? That is what the Dabangg franchise is known for... well at least that's what the first two movies were like. As I'm looking back on the movie and trying to find some pros, I see that I'm truly at a lost for words and not in a good way. The film was providing a basic level of entertainment which only came from the fact that this film is so terrible that you can laugh at the stupidity of it. The only genuinely good part of the 2hr 30min movie was the villain played by Sudeep. In the movie, he is truly menacing and pure evil and does a really good job of providing suspense to the film.

Cons: As I touched on in the very little pros section, all of the charm from the previous two Dabangg films evaporated in this one. It was replaced with childish lines, terrible action sequences, plot holes at every turn, and mediocre songs every two minutes. In terms of the script, it feels as though the director ran out of ideas so he gave his script to a group of 5-year-olds and told them to write the jokes. The only thing worse than the dialogues was the delivery of those dialogues. Every primary character in the movie (excluding the villain) said their lines in a very stiff manner. It sounded like the actor/actress was saying the lines because he had to when it should have sounded like the character in the movie wanted to say it because it adds to their personality or it is what they believe. In addition to the stiff delivery of the lines, the actor and actresses in the film were genuinely bad. Unfortunately, whatever menacing feel the villain provides is quickly negated by the goofiness of Salman Khan which leads to poor chemistry and a poor vibe the film gives. Along with the childish lines, the plot was a mess. The director tried so hard to bring nostalgia to the audience by making references to things that happen in the previous films in the form of flashbacks, that the rest of the film feels neglected and rushed. There are major plot points in the film that happen and are never explained which leads to many, many plot holes. If that wasn't bad enough, the already thin plot is made even more unbearable by a song performance every two minutes of the movie which provides no real impact to the plot and is met with terrible dancing and just makes you wanna walk out of the theater. Finally, every action sequence that happens in the movie is so unrealistic that you don't feel any pleasure in watching the good guy beat up the bad guy because you already know that the good guy is far too overpowered and the antagonist doesn't even have a chance. The movie shows that the protagonist can dodge bullets and punch through steel doors so when the final battle started, it wasn't a matter of "Oh my gosh how is he going to defeat the bad guy!!" It was more like, "Can we hurry this up because I really need to get home and pretend like the last 2hr 30min never happened."

Star Rating: 2.5/10

Final Thoughts: Dabangg 3 doesn't even get close to being like it's predecessors. With an extremely thin plot, terrible acting, a childish script, and a bland song with terrible dancing at every turn, Dabangg 3 is far better watching as background noise while doing some work than spending money to watch in the big screen.
