Synopsis: Suits is the story of one of Manhattan's best closer, Harvey Specter and the law firm he works in, Pearson Hardman. Problems arise when Harvey is instructed to hire a new associate to take under his wing. He finally finds and hires a brilliant man named Mike Ross, who stumbles into the interview accidentally, and trains him to become the best lawyer possible without revealing the big secret Mike holds...he never went to law school.
Introduction: Suits is an outstanding show filled with an exemplary cast. The relationship the two main characters, Mike and Harvey, have is extremely entertaining to see and watching them work together in court is something you have to experience for yourself. One of the concerns I had before watching this show was that the show might be confusing for me as I didn't know much about the law or what it takes to be a lawyer, but Suits is pretty easy to follow even if you know nothing about the legal system. Although this show can be really great and funny, it can also get pretty slow but overall this is one of those shows that you just have to watch.
Pros: The main thing that I really like is the dynamic duo, Mike and Harvey. As the show progresses, you can tell that Harvey is Mike's mentor and best friend. Although sometimes Harvey can be stern, at the end of the day, it is clear that he truly cares for Mike and will do anything for him to succeed. Something else Suits shows really well is how Mike progresses as a character. He starts off as someone who does petty crime just to get by and transforms into a mature, legitimate lawyer. Furthermore, this show does a really nice job in incorporating the law aspect of the show in a way that appeals to everyone. What a lot of law shows will do is either dumb down the legal system in the show, or over complicate it. Suits manages to tackle the life of a lawyer in such a way that on one hand it isn't too complicated yet on the other hand it's very realistic and accurate at the same time.
Cons: If I'm being completely honest, I really can't find a big negative quality in this show that bothered me. The only thing I can really think of is sometimes the show can drag on and get a little slow, but other than that there is no other fault this show has.
Star Review: 9.5/10
Final Thoughts: Suits is a perfectly constructed law show with an exceptional cast, magnificent writing, and a great plot. I highly recommend this show regardless of how much you know about the legal system.
